Energy cash to be claimed by residents in Stafford
Stafford Borough Council have provided details of financial support for residents of Stafford, that may be of interest, see below for the full details:
Time is running out for people in Stafford Borough to claim up to £400 to help with energy costs.
Most residents have already had money knocked off their energy bill as part of funding to help people during the cost-of-living crisis.
But more than 2,000 households in the borough who, for example, do not pay an energy supplier directly, pay for their energy with their rent to a landlord, or use alternative fuels to run their property, could be eligible for the money.
Around 500 residents have already applied for the cash – and now Stafford Borough Council are urging others to get in touch.
The closing date to apply for the money is Wednesday 31 May and people can find more information by going to the Government’s website www.gov.uk or by searching online for “Apply for energy bill support if you do not get it automatically.”
Chris Forrester, Deputy Chief Executive at the borough council, said: “If you haven’t received help with your energy bills automatically from your supplier and/or you use alternative fuels such as Liquid gas then you may be entitled to help from the Government.
“We don’t want people to miss out so we’d urge everyone to get an application in as soon as possible as no claims can be made after 31 May.”
